Where can I get a free domain name and web hosting?

I need a lot of MB (enough to store a fairly large database) and i want the site to allow me to easily built the web page.

You can only get free Sub-domain names but not real domain names.

If you are serious about websites either for personal or your business, don%26#039;t go to free web hosting as they are usually not reliable and you may end up losing all your hard work. Free web hosts usually put advertisements on your websites and it could be annoying.

If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months%26#039; time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account.

They have a pretty good size storage for you (though I can%26#039;t remember how much, it%26#039;s actually more than 110mb now) and the site is freely hosted with no advertisements. They make money off of their own custom 404 pages so they don%26#039;t put ads on your site.

As for a domain name, I don%26#039;t know of any place to get a free one. 1and1.com has reasonably cheap ones though. I believe it%26#039;s $5.95/year for a .com domain name. You can point the domain to your 110mb.com website once the domain is set up.

A domain name is not free ex: www.YOU.com is NOT free. While cheaper, www.YOU.net or www.YOU.org are also still not free.

For a FREE site with large hosting, you can find a web host that offers %26quot;subdomains%26quot; as an example www.YOU.YOURWEBHOST.com. I use theses, and a few good ones are http://www.bravenet.com/ and if you are more advanced http://www.110mb.com/ .

An alternative is to register a domain re-direct. Instead of typing for example www.YOU.bravnet.com/index.html you can get (a free) domain re-direct from http://www.freedomain.co.nr/ which instead, users will type http://www.YOU.co.nr/ which is a lot easier for guests. :)

As I mentioned, you can search and come up with a few sites, they WILL offer you a full .com for free but you have to continually post in their forums or fulfill advertisement/sponser requirements.
