Hosting a web site?

does anyone know how i can host a website of mine i wanna do the host but never did one anyone cane help me.

Hosting a web site?

Try Apache server and you could host website on your computer.

But if you create website and if you like to run your website 24/7 from your computer, you will have to switch on your computer all the time and it may damage your computer in the long run.

If you intend to create a few websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website), go for multiple web hosting where you could handle your websites in one account.

Visit Following webhosting , they are quite good.

They offer hosting of %26quot;unlimited domains%26quot; and you will get massive webspace of 300000 MB (300 GB ). They only charge $5.95/month and they offer %26quot;a free Domain Name%26quot; and installing service called %26quot;Fantastico%26quot;. By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer %26quot;Free Website Builder%26quot; as well.

Visit the site to check details.

You can set your home computer up to be a server and host a web site, but you will have to register your domain name somewhere and have traffic for that domain be forwarded to your computer.

If you aren%26#039;t very computer savvy, you may want to register with a company that will host it for you so they can do the leg work and keep you up and running.

Other Replys:I assume, as a first timer, that your intention was to say %26quot;I want to have a website%26quot; rather than %26quot;I want to host a website%26quot;. If you just want to slap a site up, there are plenty of places that will give you free space, and tools to set you up.

Geocities is one example.

If you want your own domain name though, you will have to get a web hosting package, typically costing $10/month or more.

Yahoo also offers hosting services, as does Godaddy.com

Other Replys:I recommend DreamHost because of their low prices and great control panel. http://www.dreamhost.com/
